The name

Kaath. Wood.
Era. Time.

Kaath Era takes its name from two words on purpose: kaath is wood, era is a stretch of time. That's the whole idea: time, held inside wood, made by hand rather than assembled on a line.

Every clock that leaves our Jaipur workshop is hand-carved, hand-sanded and hand-finished. We choose between two honest material lines — solid premium teak wood, or engineered wood with a laminate face — and we're upfront about which is which, so you know exactly what's going on your wall.

How each clock is made

Wood, chosen & hand-carved

Teak or engineered board is seasoned first, then the case and dial are shaped entirely by hand — no two clocks are perfectly identical.

Hands & silent movement, fitted by hand

Hands are cut and finished to match the case, then a genuine Orpat or Ajanta sweep movement is hand-fitted — no tick-tick.

Finished, checked & packed

Oiling or lacquering, a sweep-accuracy check, then careful packing for the trip ahead, near or far.

Jaipur to Jersey City — we ship both ways.

Domestic orders move through trusted courier partners across India. International orders are packed for long transit, with extra corner protection for the case and dial glass. Customs duties and import taxes, where applicable, are the buyer's responsibility and vary by country — we'll confirm shipping cost and transit time when you enquire.

Questions we get asked
Is it 100% wood, or are there plastic parts?

The case, dial and hands are wood — hand-carved and hand-shaped. The only non-wood part is the sweep clock movement itself (Orpat or Ajanta), which sits hidden behind the dial, exactly like in any wall clock.

Is the sweep movement really silent?

There's a very faint, near-silent motor hum common to all quartz sweep movements — but no ticking. Most people find it inaudible from normal seating distance.

Do you ship outside India?

Yes — we pack for international transit and ship worldwide. Message us with your country and we'll confirm cost and delivery time.

Can I get a custom size, wood tone or numeral style?

Since every piece is handmade to order, customisation is available — share your needs on WhatsApp and we'll confirm what we can do.

What's the difference between the two lines?

The Heritage line (Eclipse, Halo, Vortex) is solid premium teak wood end to end. The Studio line (Duo, Sunburst) uses an engineered wood core with a laminate veneer face — the same handcraftsmanship and the same silent sweep movement, at a lower material cost.
